Aïcha Ben Dhia has worked as a researcher in several organizations, including the private investment firm 2050.do, the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL).
Bridging different disciplines and worlds within and out of the academic sphere, her research contributed to design 2050's investment strategy in the agri-food system and to address climate change. She co-authored the first transdisciplinary course on today's environmental challenges taught at the Université Paris Dauphine. She now advises different organizations on their impact strategy and keeps on pursuing applied research projects on the future of food and climate change.
Trained in maths at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, Aïcha completed her PhD in Economics at MIT under the supervision of Esther Duflo and Frank Schilbach. Her thesis used experimental data to study different ways to reduce unemployment and understand the potential of professional training for the unemployed.
