Andrea Tambalotti

Andrea Tambalotti is a Vice President in the Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies Function of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His research focuses on the use of DSGE models as tools for macroeconomic and monetary policy analysis. It has been published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, and the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity among others. His most recent work investigates possible explanations for the disconnect between inflation and unemployment that has characterized the U.S. business cycle since around 1990, and the causes and macroeconomic implications of low interest rates in the United States and around the world. He has also written on the role of mortgage debt in the Great Recession and the housing boom that preceded it and on the sources of business cycle fluctuations from the perspective of DSGE models. Dr. Tambalotti holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and a B.A. and M.A. from Universita' Bocconi in Milan.
