Aparajita Dasgupta

Associate Professor of Economics at Ashoka University

Aparajita Dasgupta is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Ashoka University, India. An applied microeconomist by training, she holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Riverside. Her research interests lie in the intersection of development, health, gender, environment and labor economics. Her research contributes to the growing literature on the dynamics of human capital formation, where she is interested to understand the causal linkages between early environment and later life outcomes (health, fertility, cognition, schooling, labour market outcomes and intergenerational mobility). Her research primarily uses large micro-level data, often longitudinal, from developing country settings. Aparajita has published in Economic Development and Cultural Change, Economics Letters, Health Economics, IZA Journal of Development and Migration, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Population Economics, The Journal of Development Studies, Oxford Economic Papers, Population and Development Review, Review of Development Economics, amongst others.
