Burkhard C. Schipper is a professor of economics as well as an affiliate faculty member in applied mathematics at the University of California, Davis. His research lies broadly in the area of microeconomic theory, game theory, and experimental economics. He is one of the leaders in the interdisciplinary research on unawareness and unknown unknowns, working on the epistemic logic, decision theory, and game theory with unawareness and its applications to economics, finance, political science, business strategy, and AI. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Army Research Office. He did his doctoral studies in economics at the University of Bonn and Tel Aviv University, earning a PhD from the University of Bonn.
