Cosmin L. Ilut is an Assistant Professor at Duke University and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He has received his Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University in 2009, his M.A. from Central European University in 2004, and his undergraduate degree from Babes-Bolyai University in 2002. Cosmin's major fields of interest are macroeconomics, asset pricing, international finance and applied decision theory. Specifically, he focuses on the role of expectations and how agents incorporate information. He is currently focusing on settings in which agents face model uncertainty. Based on decision theoretical foundations, he studies the role of such uncertainties for understanding macroeconomic issues like business cycle fluctuations, asset pricing and optimal policy.
