Covid Economics Papers

Covid Economics is special in three respects:

• It presented research in real time. The submissions were evaluated swiftly, within five days, and appeared online a few days later.
• The papers were vetted by Editors for quality and relevance. Vetting is different from refereeing in the sense that the decision is up or down, with no possibility of revising and resubmitting.
• The articles are pre-prints, meaning that authors, who retained copyright, may later submit to established reviews. The list of reviews that announced that they would accept revised versions of papers featured in Covid Economics appears in each issue.

The vetting process aimed at making Covid Economics a reliable source of on-going academic research.

The accepted papers were collated in ‘issues’. There was no preset periodicity of the issues. They were posted whenever a sufficient number of papers had been accepted.

CEPR-affiliated researchers could also publish them in the CEPR Discussion Paper series.
