Elva Bova

Elva Bova is Deputy Head of the National Fiscal Frameworks and Institutions Unit in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN). She joined DG ECFIN in 2016, working as fiscal desk for Portugal and on horizontal files, such as spending reviews, public assets and green budgeting. From 2010 to 2016, she was an Economist at the IMF in the Fiscal Affairs Department, contributing mainly to the Fiscal Monitor, and in the African Department, as country desk for commodity-producing economies. She also worked as the Senior Economist of the Foundation for European Progressive Studies, where she conducted research on the labour market. Prior to joining the Fund, she obtained her PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She has published on public finance, inequality and labour market.
