Congratulations to CEPR Vice President Hélène Rey, who will be awarded the 2024 Bernhard Harms Prize by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. The prize will be awarded at the 3rd Kiel-CEPR Conference on Geoeconomics, held in Berlin on October 17th.
Since 1964, the Kiel Institute's Bernhard Harms Prize has been awarded biennially to distinguished scholars for their outstanding research in international economics and for exceptional efforts to promote global economic relations. The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and is named after Bernhard Harms, who founded the Kiel Institute in 1914. It is sponsored by the Society for the Advancement of the Kiel Institute.
Hélène Rey is CEPR Vice President, Special Projects. She is also a Research Fellow for CEPR's Asset Pricing, Banking and Corporate Finance, Climate Change and the Environment, International Macroeconomics and Finance programmes, and a member of CEPR's European Economic Policy Research Policy Network. Hélène holds the Lord Bagri Professorship of Economics at London Business School. Her research focuses on international macroeconomics and finance, looking specifically at financial stability, international capital flows, exchange rates, and the international monetary system.
