Jan Eeckhout is ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He previously held positions at the University of Pennsylvania and UCL, and has been Louis Simpson Visiting Professor at Princeton. His research interests focus on the macroeconomic implications of market power. He has published articles in economics journals and is the author of the book ‘The Profit Paradox’. His research has featured in the media, including The Economist, WSJ, FT, NYT and Bloomberg.
Jan Eeckhout is currently the president of the European Economic Association, and a fellow of the Econometric Society and Academia Europaea. He earned his PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics.
