Jonathan Pycroft

Economic modeller at European Commission

Jonathan Pycroft is an economic modeller with the European Commission. He is based at the Fiscal Policy Analysis Unit (JRC-Seville), where he focuses on the areas of corporate taxation and pension analysis. Before this, he worked in the field of climate change economics, modelling issues such as the emissions trading scheme, the economic impact of sea-level rise, and the social cost of carbon dioxide. He holds a doctorate from the University of Sussex and an MSc. from the University of Oxford. Earlier in his career, he worked extensively in sub-Saharan Africa, specifically Zambia, Ethiopia, and Lesotho, on issues ranging from foreign aid and trade to agriculture and health.
