Kala Krishna is Liberal Arts Research Professor of Economics at the Pennsylvania State University. She is also a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research in the US, and a Fellow of CES-IFO in Munich. From 1984 to 1991, she was Assistant and then Associate Professor of Economics at Harvard University. From 1991-1993 she was William L Clayton Professor of Economics at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Professor Krishna has been a visiting Professor at a number of universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Hebrew University, Stockholm University and The University of Copenhagen. She holds a B.A. from Lady Sriram College, Delhi University, a M.A. from the Delhi School of Economics and a Ph.D from Princeton University.
She was Co-editor of the Journal of International Economics and serves on the editorial boards of a number of journals including Economics Letters, IJIO, JITED and JIE. She has published extensively in journals such as the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, International Economic Review, the Journal of Development Economics and the Journal of International Economics on international trade, economic development, industrial organisation and applied game theory. In addition to her writings on these topics, she has written a book on the Multi Fibre Arrangement.
