Lea Borchert is an Associate for Public Sector Finance at ING. Prior to working at ING she received her PhD from the Chair of Financial Markets at the University of Mannheim (summa cum laude). She was also a researcher at ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim and the Frankfurt School of Finance, Frankfurt. Her research has focused on the areas of financial intermediation and financial stability, with a special emphasis on the European banking sector, and has been supported a.o. by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Prior to her PhD she received a Diploma in Mathematics from Technical University of Munich (TUM).
