Lori Beaman is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Northwestern University. Her research interests are in development and labor economics, with a primary focus on how social networks facilitate information transmission in the U.S. and in developing countries. Other work has looked at gender bias towards female leaders in India. A former Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in Health Policy Research at the University of California, Berkeley, she has also received a grant from the Russell Sage Foundation Program in Behavioral Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University and a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
