Marta Ruiz-Arranz is Deputy Division Chief in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund, coordinating the work of the Fiscal Monitor. She has published papers on debt overhang, reserve adequacy, and remittances and financial development. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University. She is currently on external assignment with the Inter-American Development Bank.
