Miguel Tovar is currently a research officer at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin, Ireland. He works in the department of energy and environment. He holds a PhD in economics at the University of Essex. He completed a master’s degree in economics at the same University and B.A. in Economics from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Mexico City. He previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Germany, as a teaching assistant in the University of Essex and as a researcher in the Mexican Research Institute of Oil. His work appears in European Economic Review, the Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Resource and Energy Economics and Ecological Economics.
