Patrick Karl O'Brien FBA is an emeritus Professor of Economic History at the University of London. His list of publications going back to 1959 covers most of the major themes and problems falling within the purview of modern economic history. He has written and edited several books and a bibliography of articles dealing with British, European, American, Chinese and Global Economic History. He is currently convenor of a research network investigating economic outcomes that flowed from the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, 1793-1815 and he is located at the London School of Economics.
