Ragnar Torvik is Professor of Economics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Professor Torvik studied economics at the University of Oslo, and has previously been employed at the University of Oslo and at Norges Bank (The Central Bank of Norway), before moving to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. HE does research in political economy, development economics and macroeconomics. His main research interest is why some resource abundant countries do so well while others do so poorly.
